The plants are shorter than hardneck varieties. 

Many Silverskin varieties have up to 3-5 clove layers within the bulb and can contain 15-20 cloves. 

The outside cloves are round and fat and have a slight irregular shape.

Known for their tight clove skins, improving their excellent storage capabilities. 

Silverskin can store for up to 10-12 months. 

As a softneck, Silverskin are good for braiding.

One pound of Silverskin may produce up to 65 plants.
